Francis Pigott 1872-1872
At just ten weeks, Francis, son of Francis Piggott and Mary Ryan died. He was born at Parwan. Francis, senior, was born in Galbally, Co Limerick. He was the son of David Pigott, a farmer of Baunteen, Galbally Parish and his wife, Elizabeth. The obituary for Francis, senior, read, ‘An old resident of the Werribee Gorge Valley, Mr Francis Piggott, died at Geelong on Wed., 13th inst., (1897) aged 72 years. He had resided for nearly 40 years in the Bacchus Marsh district. He arrived in Melbourne in 1854.’ Francis married Mary Ryan in Victoria in 1857.
