Joanne Butler 1862-1882
Joanne died at twenty years of age. She was the second child of William Butler and Margaret McKnight who married at St Francis Church, Melbourne on 8th March, 1859. William was born at Kilmurry, Glebe, Limerick in 1816, the son of John Butler and Margaret Davy. Margaret was born in the same parish in Limerick, Ireland.
Joanne’s sister, Mary (Minnie) Butler married Michael James Dowling in Bacchus Marsh in 1888. Their four children were John, May, Florence and Herbert Dowling and have descendants still in the district.
