Mary Ann Dougherty (Doherty) 1859-1862
The ‘Dougherty’ spelling was used on the list from Vic bdm but it is not used by the family.
Mary Ann and James were the children of James Doherty and Rose McDonnell. James and Rose were married in Co Donegal, Ireland, in 1853. They migrated to Victoria with their two year old daughter, Hannah, and baby son, James, arriving in Bacchus Marsh between 1857 and 1859.
Mary Ann and James died within two days of each other in April, 1862. Mary Ann was three and James was five.
Hannah Doherty married Bernard Love on 28th May, 1876 at St Bernard’s Church, Bacchus Marsh.
