Patrick Kennedy 1849-1869
Mary Kennedy 1856-1886
Patrick Kennedy and Mary Kennedy were the children of Thomas Kennedy and Sarah Kennedy. They were born in Tipperary. Patrick, a shoemaker, died after having a leg amputated. A poem printed in the paper at the time of his sister’s death referred to her lying beside her brother’s ‘lonely tomb’ at Hopetoun Cemetery. Ann Hanson, the second wife of Thomas Hanson, was that sister. Mary, a cook, died from burns received when her clothes caught fire while cooking.
